Introduction to Home Defense Shotgun is our flagship foundational shotgun course that imparts the skills needed to master the shotgun and provides a base of knowledge that all of our shotgun training continuously draws from.
This course teaches the operator to effectively and efficiently protect home and family with the shotgun while standing their ground. Aside from being one of the best basic shotgun courses available anywhere, this course effectively hones the skills of those with previous shotgun training.
This course begins with an academic presentation including a short history of the shotgun, nomenclature, cycle of operation, ammunition choices and reasons to use a shotgun for self defense.
Shotgun training consists of weapons retention and defensive tactics, dry fire, malfunction clearing, and a live course of fire to include, but not limited to, safe handling of a shotgun, fundamentals, mounting the shotgun, shotgun trigger, multiple shots, tactical loading of the shotgun, rhythm drills, patterning the shotgun, precision shots and timed drills.
We train all participants to our qualification standard.
